Get support for your efforts and initiatives through the Foresters’ and Science Fund grant programs.

Foresters' Fund

Established to promote forestry education and enhance public understanding of forest management, the Foresters’ Fund advances the efforts of state societies, divisions, and chapters with grants up to $5,000. 

Kurt Gottschalk Science Fund

The Kurt Gottschalk Science Fund supports SAF Working Groups in the development and dissemination of scientific information, new technology for foresters and other natural resources professionals, and helps facilitate science-informed management to practitioners.


SCHOLARSHIPS


SAF offers annual scholarships for academic achievement, excellence in leadership, and to help the best and brightest of forestry’s next generation travel to SAF National Conventions.

Ben Meadows Scholarships

SAF is pleased to administer two scholarships offered by Ben Meadows to students enrolled in a natural resources program working toward a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree. 
The scholarships, one for academic achievement and one based on leadership, are each worth $2,500. 
The Society of American Foresters is pleased to administer two scholarships offered by Ben Meadows.

All scholarship candidates must be enrolled, full time, as a junior or senior in a natural resource program working toward a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree, which includes, but not limited to, agroforestry, urban forestry, environmental studies, natural resource management, natural resource recreation, wildlife management, wood science, and fisheries management.

The scholarships, one for academic achievement and one based on leadership, are each worth $2,500.

Student Diversity Scholarship

The Diversity Scholarship funds registration and accommodation to attend the SAF National Convention for students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and interested in a career in forestry or natural resources. 

Gregory Award

The Gregory Award provides economic assistance to outstanding students or professionals from outside the United States and Canada for travel to SAF’s National Convention.
