Message from CEO: Thank You to First Responders

September 10, 2020

We have all witnessed heartbreaking images from wildfires in western states and Hurricane Laura in the Southeast. In addition to cities and homes, these events have impacted federal, state, industrial, and private forest lands. The presence of COVID-19 makes managing these events all the more complicated.

SAF would like to extend its thanks and support to first responders and their families. We know many of our members and members of the forestry community are active in responding to these incidents. A useful resource during this time is the National Wildfire Coordinating Group incident map for specific fire information to stay informed.

We thank you for keeping others safe, while keeping yourselves safe. Now is the time to ensure that everyone is safe and sheltered, soon will be a time for assessing the damage, and there will come time to re-establish our forests and communities.

Stay safe,

Terry Baker
