Celebrate National Arbor Day!

April 28, 2021

Join SAF in celebrating how trees connect people on National Arbor Day! This year, National Arbor Day is April 30, 2021. How do you celebrate trees? In both urban and rural areas, green spaces provide career opportunities in forestry and natural resources, outdoor recreation, mental and physical health benefits, and even savings on energy bills by planting the right tree in the right place.

Trees also shape communities with efforts like the Tree Campus Higher Education program, including some SAF accredited programs like Mississippi State University, and Tree City USA to establish and sustain community forests for future generations.

For suggestions on how to celebrate, read the Arbor Day Foundation’s tips here. From sharing on social media using the hashtag #ArborDay and tagging the Arbor Day Foundation to planting a tree, there are many ways to get outside and involved even in a time of social distancing.
