We are pleased to announce a new scholarship opportunity for undergraduate forestry and natural resources students! Through their continued efforts to promote the forestry profession for future generations, Resource Management Service, LLC (RMS) and the Society of American Foresters (SAF) are jointly sponsoring a scholarship program designed to support students who would benefit from receiving financial assistance and students from underrepresented groups in forestry and natural resources earning an undergraduate degree in a forestry-related field.

Applications will open in March 2022 and an additional formal announcement will be made at that time. The recipient will be named in Fall 2022 for the upcoming academic year.

Criteria

To be eligible, the applicant and recipient must:

  • Be from an underrepresented group in forestry and natural resources
  • Be a full-time student
  • Have a declared undergraduate major in forestry or related natural resources program
  • Have achieved status as a college junior by the upcoming fall semester
  • Have a 3.0 cumulative GPA, which must be maintained while receiving the scholarship

Priority will be given to students who represent a financial need.

Scholarship
The scholarship will be awarded to the recipient for up to two years.  It can be used by the recipient to cover costs associated with tuition, books, room, and board.

Recipients will also receive a comped registration to the SAF annual convention each year.

Amount
Each scholarship awarded will be $10,000 annually with half to be paid in the fall and spring semester directly to the recipient.

Internship
RMS will provide a paid, full-time summer internship each year during which the recipient is a beneficiary of the scholarship.
