SAF Supports Resilient Federal Forests Act
July 30, 2021
SAF joined over 85 organizations in offering support for Representative Bruce Westerman’s new
Resilient Federal Forests Act, which would give land management agencies and partners the necessary resources they need now to improve forest health and resiliency through comprehensive, active management. The Resilient Federal Forests Act addresses the declining health of American forests and moves to restore and maintain forest health, increase resiliency to wildfire, and support the economic revitalization of rural communities.
“SAF is grateful to Representative Westerman for continuing to champion investing in long-term forest health through science-based, active management. The Resilient Federal Forests Act delivers the tools and freedom forestry and natural resources professionals need now to restore healthy landscapes, promote fire-adapted communities, revitalize local economies, and maximize the carbon benefits of our nation’s forests.”
