In response to our strategic plan and the growing needs of our organization, we are excited to welcome Whitney Forman-Cook as SAF’s new Chief Operations Officer/Director of Communications.

Whitney joins SAF with an extensive background in communications and association management, most recently with the National Association of State Foresters as their director of communications. Whitney will officially join the SAF team on November 28.

“As a long-time member of SAF, I’m thrilled to be joining its headquarters staff as COO and communications director," said Forman-Cook. "SAF is the preeminent forestry organization in this country with a rich history as the voice of the forest sector. I look forward to co-leading SAF’s growth, bringing unparalleled value to its members, and enhancing the organization’s efficiency, capacity, and influence.”

As part of this organizational change, all marketing and communications efforts will be housed under one department, including the communications platform #forestproud. Rae Tamblyn—who has worked for #forestproud for several years, most recently as the associate director of community engagement—is stepping into the director of #forestproud position as TJ Struhs embarks on a new career opportunity in the sector.

"I'm excited for the opportunity and growth these organizational changes bring for SAF," said SAF CEO Terry Baker. “Adding Whitney to the team will allow for an overarching strategic direction for all communications from SAF and increase our bandwidth to communicate on behalf of our members and the sector. Whitney's co-lead role will allow us to increase efficiency and provide additional capacity for our expanded team."
