“Recognizing your peers for their efforts and accomplishments within an organization is important as it motivates individuals and builds community. Acknowledging their efforts and achievements builds trust, strengthens relationships, and encourages continued excellence.” —Ashley Carter, 2022 Student Leadership Award

“Being named a 2022 Fellow meant more to me than just a thank you for my impact and accomplishments in Research Forestry, Urban and Community Forestry, within and for the Society of American Foresters and my local chapters. The nomination came at just the right time to affirm my impact and accomplishments. I felt very honored.” —Jeanne Kavinski, 2022 SAF Fellow

“Since I became a member of SAF as a graduate student, I have been watching with deep admiration the esteemed scientists and professors receiving this award – I could not have imagined one day I would receive a national SAF award.” —Linda Nagel, 2021 Barrington Moore Memorial Award in Biological Science
