SAF does not express an opinion on the competence of or warrant the job performance of those certified. Rather, certification constitutes recognition by SAF that, to its best knowledge, a candidate meets and adheres to certain minimum academic preparation, professional experience, continuing education, and professional standards. Each certification program has it's own eligibility requirements, and our Certified Foresters-Retired no longer practice full-time or are required to maintain 45 continuing forestry education credits every three years.
