COVID-19 – Frequently Asked Questions

If I choose not to attend my scheduled examination, will I forfeit my exam fees?
If you fail to show up for your examination at the scheduled time, do not have the proper identification, or do not have your admission document, you will not be allowed to sit for your exam. You will be considered a "No Show," your examination fees will be forfeited, and you will be required to re-register and pay all fees prior to sitting for the exam. However, if an issue arises that prohibits you from making it to your scheduled exam, you may reschedule prior to (5) calendar days before your scheduled exam date. You may be required to pay a rescheduling fee to process your request. If it is less than (5) calendar days, you will not be allowed to cancel or reschedule your exam except for extenuating circumstance. Refer to the Study Guide for additional information about rescheduling and cancellation policy. Stay tuned for updates. Please call us at (866) 897-8720 or email [email protected] regarding more specific questions about the rescheduling of your exam date. Schroeder Measurement Technologies/Prometric will be contacting candidates with exam dates during this period in an effort to prevent them from unnecessarily appearing at testing centers, as well as working to reschedule exams.

Many testing sites are re-opening at full or partial capacity. View Schroeder Measurement Technologies/IsoQuality Testing/Prometric UPDATE on COVID-19 and status of examination locations.

Will I be notified in case of an exam cancellation?
Yes, if our examination providers decide to close a testing location resulting in a cancelled or rescheduled exam, candidates will be contacted via the examination provider. If you are currently scheduled for an exam, please check your email and voice messages periodically for notices.

At your earliest convenience, please log in to make sure SAF has the appropriate contact information for you, especially your email. If you are unable to log into your account, you may use the “FORGOT PASSWORD” button available or call us at (866) 897-8720 to verify the information in your account.

If I postpone my re-exam or my re-exam is cancelled how will it affect my one-year retake period?
If you are within one year of your original re-exam date and your exam is cancelled by the testing center, SAF will add 90 days to your one-year exam retake period and may adjust your certification application window to accommodate the testing window.

What if I am applying for state licensure?
The exam and re-exam questions above will apply to you as well. Be sure to contact your state board of registered foresters to have your state licensure questions addressed.
