SAF Supports Urban and Community Forestry

May 9, 2019

As a leader in the Sustainable Urban Forests Coalition (SUFC), SAF supports a variety of programs that fund urban and community forestry efforts across the country. SUFC’s Fiscal Year 2020 recommendations cover programs in the US Forest Service, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the National Park Service. The following testimony was submitted to the House Interior Appropriations Subcommittee.

SUFC is comprised of more than 35 national organizations and corporations representing hundreds of thousands of professionals—and millions of supporters—who care for and support sustainable trees and green infrastructure in our nation’s communities. From improving air and water quality, to advancing human health and safety, to promoting economic development and social equity, SUFC’s mission is to convene and mobilize our diverse member network to foster thriving communities through healthy urban and community forests.
